The short answer
A security robot for a UAE site costs from about $34,000 for an industrial quadruped (robot dog) to about $78,000 for an all-weather outdoor patrol robot, based on HORMĒ's indicative prices in US dollars before VAT, installation and integration. An indoor multi-floor patrol robot sits in between at about $52,000, and tactical quadrupeds are priced on request. Running a machine under the HORMĒ behavior platform adds a monthly licence, normally $349 per machine for security work.

What decides the price
- Indoor or outdoor: an indoor patrol robot works on flat floors in a controlled climate. An outdoor machine needs weather sealing and the ability to cross kerbs and rough ground, and the all-weather Ascento Guard is the highest-priced machine listed.
- Wheels or legs: wheeled and balancing robots are efficient on roads, car parks and corridors. Quadrupeds cost more to engineer for a given payload but go where wheels cannot: stairs, rubble, sand and plant areas.
- Ingress rating: IP67 machines such as the X30 and Vision 60 are sealed against dust and water, which matters on UAE sites with sand and wash-down areas.
- Sensors: thermal plus visual sensing, as on the indoor patrol robot, lets a machine detect anomalies in the dark as well as in daylight.
- Autonomy between charges: an autonomous charging dock, included with the X30, lets a machine patrol in shifts without anyone plugging it in.
- Verification model: a human-in-the-loop service, where an operator checks each anomaly before your team is alerted, cuts false alarms and is part of what you pay for.
What else to budget for
- Platform licence: security machines normally run on the Autonomy tier at $349 per machine per month, which adds multi-machine coordination, condition-driven re-planning and behavior policies with exclusion zones and speed limits. The Assured tier at $690 adds a full decision audit trail, human-in-the-loop handover and a response SLA. Fleet rates apply above twenty machines. See HORMĒ pricing.
- Installation and mapping: site survey, mapping of patrol routes and docking points, and integration with lifts, doors or the control room where needed.
- Approvals: machines are certified before shipment, and some security machines need extra clearance. See the approvals section below.
- Spares and service: HORMĒ holds wear parts and critical spares in the UAE, with factory-certified service engineers resident in the country.
- VAT and import: prices exclude UAE VAT.
- Pilot: most deployments start with a paid 90-day pilot on one floor, wing or yard.
Approvals and restrictions
Security machines carry more paperwork than cleaning or delivery robots. HORMĒ completes TDRA type approval and ECAS conformity before shipment and hands the documents over with the equipment. The Vision 60 tactical quadruped is also subject to end-user approval and export licensing from its country of origin, and requires Ministry of Interior clearance in the UAE. Its lead time is the longest listed, at 24 to 36 weeks. For the full picture, read importing robots into the UAE: TDRA, ECAS and IECEx approvals.
Buy or lease?
Leasing is cheaper to start but costs more to hold. On HORMĒ's whole-site cost modelling, the two cross over at around month twenty. If you expect to keep the fleet longer than that, buying usually costs less overall. If you are testing a patrol concept or covering a fixed-term contract, leasing keeps capital free.
Delivery time
Lead times for the security machines above run from 12 to 36 weeks. The X30 quadruped is the quickest at 12 to 16 weeks, the indoor patrol robot takes 14 to 18 weeks and the Ascento Guard 16 to 22 weeks. The Vision 60 takes 24 to 36 weeks. Orders from Asian suppliers placed in October typically land in the first quarter; European platforms arrive in the second quarter.
How to choose the right machine
- Offices, malls, hotels and data halls: an indoor patrol robot that rides lifts covers several floors overnight with one machine.
- Campuses, car parks and logistics yards: an outdoor wheeled patrol robot covers long perimeters; the Ascento Guard has a far smaller footprint than tracked or four-wheel alternatives.
- Plants, substations and rough ground: an IP67 quadruped handles stairs, gratings and sand, and can combine patrol with inspection rounds. See inspection robots for oil, gas and industry.
- High-security perimeters: a tactical quadruped, where the approvals can be obtained.
- Mixed fleets: if patrol robots have to work alongside cleaning or delivery machines from other makers, see robot fleet management across vendors.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a security robot cost in the UAE?
HORMĒ's indicative prices for security and patrol robots run from about $34,000 for an industrial quadruped to about $78,000 for an all-weather outdoor patrol robot, in US dollars before VAT, installation and integration. Tactical quadrupeds are priced on request.
How much does a robot dog for security cost?
The DEEP Robotics X30 industrial quadruped is listed by HORMĒ from $34,000 indicative, with autonomous charging included. The Ghost Robotics Vision 60 tactical quadruped is priced on request and is subject to end-user approval and export licensing.
Is there a monthly fee for a security robot?
The machine is a one-off purchase. Running it under the HORMĒ behavior platform is licensed per machine per month. Security machines normally sit on the Autonomy tier at $349 per machine per month, or the Assured tier at $690 where a full decision audit trail is required.
How long does a security robot take to deliver to the UAE?
Lead times for the security machines HORMĒ lists run from 12 to 36 weeks: 12 to 16 weeks for the X30 quadruped, 14 to 18 weeks for the indoor patrol robot, 16 to 22 weeks for the Ascento Guard and 24 to 36 weeks for the Vision 60.
Do security robots replace guards?
No. The machines HORMĒ lists extend a security team rather than replace it. They patrol set routes and detect anomalies, and alerts are routed to people; the indoor patrol robot, for example, sends each anomaly to a human operator for verification before any alert reaches the site team.
Can I trial a security robot before buying a fleet?
Yes. Most HORMĒ deployments start with a paid 90-day pilot on one floor, wing or yard, with measured results before the fleet order.
